Rapper Travis Scott Arrested In Miami For Disorderly Intoxication


Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early today in Miami for disorderly intoxication and trespassing, according to Miami Beach Police public information.

The 33-year-old rapper was arrested at 4:35 a.m. after engaging in some sort of dispute with boat crew on a chartered yacht, police told CNN. Scott was detained under his real name, Jacques Bermon Webster.

Scott was released on bond after paying $500 on the disorderly intoxication charge and $150 on the trespassing charge.

According to an arrest reprot, the Miami Beach Police Department responded to reports of people fighting on a yacht. Police responded to the disturbance and saw Scott yelling at people on the vessel.

Officers report that the rapper had a “a strong smell of alcohol” on his breath.

According to the report, police told Scott to leave the dock, which he did, walking backwards and “yelling obscenities to the occupants of the vessel”.

Five minutes later, Scott returns and attempting to head back to the yacht. Disregarding officers’ commands to leave, Scott became “erratic”, shouting and disturbing local residents, police say.

Following his arrest, the police report says, “the defendant later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated: ‘It’s Miami’.”

A local news outlet in Miami, WSVN News is reporting that Scott, following the first request to leave, “became irate screaming profanities, left and returned to disturb some more.”

Neither Miami Beach police nor Scott have made official statements on the incident as of yet.

The rapper is about to begin the second leg of his Circus Maximus tour, supporting his current Utopia album, which re-launches after a break on June 28 in the Netherlands.

In 2021, 10 people were killed and hundreds injured during a crowd surge at Scott’s performance at Houston’s Astroworld festival. He was not criminally charged in the incident.

With the arrest, Scott becomes the second major musician this week to be arrested on drinking-related charges, with Justin Timberlake taken arrested in Sag Harbor, New York. Both musicians are in the midst of global tours.
